Canva Beats AI Rivals to Claim No. 2 Spot Behind ChatGPT

New data shows the Australian company attracted 10.5 billion visits in a year, surpassing Gemini, Claude, Grok and other AI platforms.

Canva ranks second most visited AI tool following a new industry report revealing the Australian tech company beat Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude and xAI Grok in annual website traffic.

According to The OneLittleWeb AI Web Traffic Report 2025-2026, Canva received 10.5 billion visits over the period of May 2025 to April 2026, from the analysis of 9,531 AI tools. Only Open AI's ChatGPT received more visits at 64.7 billion, accounting for nearly 45% of the entire AI web traffic observed during the period.

Coming in third place, Google and 6.9 billion visits, followed by DeepSeek with 3.8 billion, Claude with 3.4 billion, Grok with 2.5 billion and Perplexity with 2.3 billion

AI Market Remains Concentrated 

According to the report, a limited set of services was still being employed with AI. Despite the abundance of thousands of AI applications, 90% of all traffic to AI websites originated from the top 100 applications in the reporting period.

Canva has been leading the AI design category with 96.28% of the total AI design generator platforms traffic. Canva is an AI-powered design and document generator that integrates an array of tools such as a spreadsheet, an image editor and a presentation editor-alongside a conversational AI foundation.

The company has also rapidly started adding third-party AI models to its service for users to generate, edit and upload content with associated AI services, while simultaneously developing on the Canva platform.

Growth Doesn't Just Stop at Traffic Rankings

Canva's latest traffic figures arrive as its business continues to expand. The company boasts more than 265 million monthly active users, 31 million paid subscribers, and an ARR of US$4 billion by 2025.80% of Fortune 500 companies also say they use Canva.

The rankings also reveal the global distribution of the best AI platforms. Out of the world's top seven platforms, five were created by companies headquartered in the United States: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Perplexity.

China's DeepSeek ranks fourth, while Canva was the highest-ranking Australian founded platform and the only platform outside of the United States to appear in the top three.

AI's prospects appear promising into the future according to it's forecasted growth. The IDC forecasts that worldwide investments in AI technologies will surpass US$630 billion by 2028 as enterprise investments go into AI software and infrastructure along with AI-enabled business applications.
