Amazon Raises Minimum US Operations Pay to $20 per Hour

Amazon is raising the minimum hourly pay for eligible full-time US operations workers by $1 to $20, as the e-commerce and cloud computing giant expands its compensation and employee benefits package.
The Amazon minimum wage $20 per hour change was announced on Wednesday and applies to eligible full-time operations employees across the United States.
Amazon also introduced a new financial benefit called “Day 1 Financial,” giving qualified employees and their families lifetime access to low-cost banking services through First Tech Federal Credit Union.
With the increase, Amazon said average total compensation for its operations workers will exceed $32 per hour when the value of benefits is included.
The company already provides benefits including healthcare coverage starting at $5 per week, a free Prime membership and prepaid education programs.
Amazon Expands Employee Benefits
The Amazon pay rise 2026 adds to the company’s broader effort to strengthen its compensation package for hourly employees. The new Amazon Day 1 Financial benefit is designed to provide eligible workers and their families with access to banking services beyond their employment with the company.

The increase also puts Amazon’s operations workers pay in comparison with wages offered by other major US retailers.
According to company websites, Walmart’s US workers have starting hourly pay of $14 while Target’s minimum hourly wage is $15. Costco raised its minimum wage for entry-level workers to $20 an hour last year, according to its annual report.
