About This event
Welcome to our in-person and over video hybrid CPA Toastmasters community!
We are a local part of an international organisation, with a program focused on improving your public speaking skills!
Although structured public speaking is the main course material, it can't be expected that everyone has time to prepare and practice a new speech twice a month.
As a result, our sessions are created with a focus on:
- Shorter impromptu speaking (60-90 seconds).
- Longer prepared speeches (usually 5-7 minutes).
- Peer evaluations.
- And a range of other activities focusing on grammar, timing, running meetings or meeting segments, or anything you choose to focus on as a goal!
Join us for this wonderful session and we can have a chat over food or drinks locally after the event!
You will get out of our Toastmasters events what you choose to put in and I believe it is a great club to be a part of at all levels for:
- Job interview practice and confidence.
- Board positions practice.
- Skills in running a meeting.
- University group projects.
- Management/sport captain skills in asserting decisions.
- Providing constructive feedback.
- Adding humour or meaning in social speeches.
- Being a mentor, or having a mentor.
- Professional and social networking.
- Anything you wish to focus on!
