A strike hit the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis in Southern Gaza. Local health and emergency officials say that at least 20 people were killed and many more were injured. The dead included patients, medical staff, rescuers, and five journalists who were reporting at the scene. The hospital’s emergency department, surgical unit, and inpatient wards were damaged, according to the World Health Organisation. Staff said that some patients who were already critically ill were badly hurt by the blast.

witnesses and the hospital workers described the scene as chaotic after the first explosion. As medics and journalists rushed to help the people, a second strike hit the same area again, causing more damage. Video clips shared from the hospital show bloody clothes and people trying to carry them to safety. Authorities in Gaza and several news agencies verified parts of the footage.

Videos and News Agencies Confirm Journalists Were Among The Dead

Several news groups say their freelancers and contractors were killed in the attack. Reuters confirmed their cameraman, Hassam al-Masri, died while filming a live feed that suddenly cut off. The committee to protect journalists and other press groups strongly condemned the killings. They said journalists and medical staff must be protected and called for a proper investigation.
