Bitcoin reached its all-time high of $111,988.99 late Wednesday, breaking previous records and showing no signs of slowing down. It later settled at $111,259, still up by 0.4% for the day. The world’s largest digital currency is now up by more than 18% since January, fueled by strong interest from institutional investors and rising confidence in the asset.
“Bitcoin is the only asset I know that becomes less risky as it grows larger,” said Anthony Pompliano, CEO of professional capital management. As bitcoin's market capitalization enters the trillions, he noted that major global investors are now more than willing and able to gain exposure to the digital currency.
Trump’s pro-crypto stance boosts market confidence
Bitcoin’s historic rally is also being supported by the US regulatory environment. President Donald Trump’s administration has adopted crypto-positive policies that are making digital assets more accessible.
On Tuesday, Trump Media and Technology Group announced plans to launch a crypto ETF that would invest in Bitcoin, Solana, Ether, and Ripple. The move shows growing acceptance of crypto investments at the highest political and financial levels. This increased clarity on crypto regulations has helped open new capital streams and attracted both retail and institutional interest across the board.
Crypto surge lifts Ether, Coinbase, and MicroStrategy Stocks
Bitcoin’s bullish momentum has lifted the entire crypto sector. Ether, the second-largest currency by market capitalization, reached a one-month high of $2,794.95 before settling in at $2,740.99, a 5.4% gain. Coinbase Global jumped 5.4% as well, and Microstrategy jumped 4.7%.
Both companies are heavily connected to bitcoin's performance, and the current surge reflects strong investor confidence in the sector's long-term growth. Bitcoin’s steady climb, backed by policy support and large-scale investor interest, is increasingly cementing its place as a serious asset alongside traditional investments.
