At the AWS summit in New York, on July 15, Amazon Web Services ( AWS) launched a significant addition to their generative AI portfolio - Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and AI Agent marketplace. These initiatives mark AWS’s most aggressive push into enterprise AI, positioning itself as a competitor to Google and Microsoft, teaming with the growing AI industry.
The AI agent marketplace went live on July 16 and is designed to allow businesses to deploy pre-built, production-ready agents with ease. These agents, built by AWS or third-party developers, can be integrated directly into existing enterprise workflows without any additions. The marketplace supports both subscription and usage-based pricing, making it suitable for multiple operational skills. Early partners like Anthropic have contributed Claude-powered agents offering Enterprises access to state-of-the-art AI and built-in governance, security, and compliance features.
AWS claims that the marketplace shortens procurement time by 60% enabling companies to go from concept to deployment faster than ever before.
BedRock AgentCore Enables Modular, Secure AI Agent Deployment Across Frameworks
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is a modular foundation for creating and scanning AI agents. It is made for production use, which includes essential services like runtime, deployment, memory for contextual retention, and a Gateway for secure tools and integrations.
Crucially, AgentCore supports leading open source frameworks such as CrewAI and is compatible with both Amazon-hosted and external language models. It also supports long-running workflows of up to 8 hours, making it perfect for companies with complex tasks.
Claude for Enterprise Now Available as AWS Anthropic Partnership Deepens
These launches are created on AWS’s $8 billion strategic partnership with Anthropic, creators of the Clause model. Claude for Enterprise is now integrated into the AWS offering by Bedrock and is available through the AWS Marketplace. The Claude integration powers developers and customers with a reliable live performing model to power specialised agents for industries, healthcare, finance, and legal services.
