Holtec Nuclear Corp has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States after emerging plans to create new support for mass-market uptake following increased investor interest, turning away towards emissions-relieving nuclear power as AI-driven electricity demand continues climbing and a long-awaited U.S. government plan to supply zero-carbon energy gathers momentum.
The move helps boost dollar volumes into 2023, along with larger deals and AI-linked IPOs, reviving the U.S. IPO market.
Focus on Small Modular Reactors
Holtec International, established in 1986 and based in Camden, N.J., specializes in nuclear equipment and spent nuclear fuel management and is developing small modular reactors (SMRs) claimed to be less expensive and quicker to deploy than conventional nuclear reactors.
The company is leading the restart of a nuclear plant that operated for some 50 years before shutting down the Palisades nuclear power plant in 2022. Holtec has received approximately US$400 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to construct two SMRs at the location.
SMR development has attracted the attention of several companies this year as X-energy and Deep Fission went public.

Holtec posted net income of US$17.8 million on revenue of US$165.3 million for the three months ended March 31, 2026, compared to a year-earlier profit of $25.4 million on sales of $177.7 million
The IPO proceeds will be used by the company to support its SMR-300 reactor. program, expand manufacturing capacity and fund other growth ventures,.it said.
The offering has been led by J.P. Morgan, Guggenheim Securities and Goldman Sachs and Citigroup as underwriters for the stock offering
