Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles made up nearly half of all new vehicle sales within the sector.
China remained the top import source for Australia during the month, with significant shifts in import origins including Japan, Thailand, South Korea, and Germany.
Toyota Financial Results
Lexus's expansion of its five-year Encore ownership benefits follows the financial results of Toyota Motor Corp. Australia for the year ending March 31, 2026.
The company achieved a net profit after tax of A$380 million and sold 240,633 Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
This year, electrified vehicle sales constituted approximately 48% of the company's deliveries, reflecting continued growth in the sales of hybrid and battery electric vehicles. Lexus stated that the updated ownership model integrates its current ownership services with its three-tier Encore membership program for Australian owners.
