Youtube and Snap Settle Social Media Lawsuit 

Breathitt County School District in eastern Kentucky has alleged social media companies are creating a youth mental health crisis. This case has now been settled with YouTube and Snap. The settlements were disclosed Friday in federal court in Oakland, California, as the case heading to trial was just weeks away. 

Financial details were not disclosed. The school district contended a lot of serious emotional and behavioural issues caused by child and teen use of the apps. They said it must be handled at schools through counselling, mental health services and other student supports.
