Zak Folkman, co-founder of World Liberty Financial ( WLF ), a cryptocurrency company backed by America’s president, Donald Trump, said that the company will release a final audit of its stablecoin within days. Speaking at the Permissionless conference in New York on Wednesday, he also said that the company aims to boost transparency by making the audit public on its website.
This decision follows growing scrutiny from lawmakers and the public over WLF’s financial operations. Folkman added that the company recently received its first attestation report from an independent accounting firm. “We’re going to have very transparent auditing from a financial level,” he said during an onstage interview.
New Crypto App Aims to Attract Everyday Users
Along with the audit, WLF is also preparing to launch a new app that will make using cryptocurrency easier for everyday investors. The app is also designed to simplify crypto transactions and offer accessibility for users unfamiliar with digital assets.
The announcement reflects the company's larger strategy to expand its reach ahead of the 2025 U.S. presidential elections. WLF, launched just two months before the election, has already generated hundreds of dollars in revenue for the Trump family business.
Governance To Me Soon Becomes Tradable
Folkman hinted another major development, which is WLF’s governance token, WLFI, could soon become tradable. Currently, WLFI allows holders to vote on the company's decisions and projects direction, but it cannot be bought or sold. “I don’t want to give away too much,” said Folkman, “But if you pay attention over the next couple of weeks, I think everyone is going to be very, very happy.”
A decision to make WLFI tradable would mark a significant and strong shift in the company’s structure and open investment opportunities for token holders.
Critics' Concerns Over Conflict of Interest
The Trump family's deep involvement in the cryptocurrency company has received a lot of criticism from democratic lawmakers and ethics groups. Critics say that the company's success could be influenced by Trump's deregulation of the crypto industry.
Although the Trump organisation has said that the President's assets are managed by a trust overseen by his children, critics are questioning whether the administration's regulatory decisions are benefiting personal business interests as well. Neither the White House nor the Trump organisation has responded to any of these accusations.
