Figma Aims for $16.4 Billion Valuation in IPO Comeback
Figma, the popular cloud-based design software company, is preparing to go public with the targeted evaluation of up to $16.4 billion. The company and some of its early investors are looking to raise as much as $1.3 billion by offering almost 37 million shares priced between $25 and $28 each.
The IPO marks a big milestone for Figma, especially after its $20 billion acquisition by Adobe was blocked last year due to some trust concerns in the UK and Europe. Now the firm is looking out on its own, hoping to ride the wave of renewed investor interest in Tech IPOs.
This IPO is a Big Moment for Tech IPOs
Figma’s listing will welcome a strong market rally and the successful debut of Circle, which is a major stablecoin player that rose in its few days of trading. These small wins have developed a boost of confidence in Tech IPO after a long period of slowdown. Analysts believe that if Figma’s debut goes well, it could open the door for more tech companies to consider going public in the second half of the year.
Figma plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “FIG”. The offering is being led by top investment banks including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Allen & Co., and JP Morgan. Last year, the company was valued at $12.5 billion in a secondary share sale that allowed its employees in early to sell out of their holdings.
Figma is Going for Steady Growth and Bold Approach
Figma is best known for its collaborative design tools used to build websites, apps, and user interfaces. This platform has become one of the favourites among Tech teams because of its real-time editing features and ease of use. Big customers like Workday, ServiceNow, and SAP are already dependent on Figma tools. In the first half of 2025, the company reported a 46% jump in revenue, and its net income tripled, which is a strong indicator of its growing market presence.
CEO and founder Dylan Field has hinted that Figma is willing to take some bold steps, including potential acquisitions. Figma also said that it has invested a lot in bitcoin with $70 million currently in Bitwise’s bitcoin ETS and plans to add $30 million more, which is an unusual move that has sparked a lot of conversations.
Challenges Faced to be Faced by Figma
Despite its growing momentum, Figma is launching its IPO in a very tricky space. The company has acknowledged that AI-powered designs could reduce the need for traditional design apps, including its own. But it’s also facing hiring challenges due to immigration policy changes, which have affected their recruitment number in the past.
Moreover, a large portion of its revenue coming from the international market remains vulnerable due to shifting trade policies and potential slowdown in overseas spending. The company has strong fundamentals, and loyal customers are seen as positive by potential investors.
