US to Launch Section 301 Probe

Trump said the US would immediately start a Section 301 investigation under the Trade Act of 1974 into whether the European Union was robbing American firms, before stating it sold more to others than most members do. He referred to the EU steps for Google as illegal and extremely unethical.

The €890 million penalty was announced by the European Commission on Thursday and comes after Google broke rules under the Digital Markets Act to control the power of big tech firms.
