Political Career and Lindsey Graham Net Worth
Graham worked in the U.S. House from 1995 to 2003 and then spent most of his political career representing South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. He had just won the Republican primary in his home state as he pursued a fifth Senate term in November. He previously sought the Republican nomination for President in 2016, before suspending his campaign.
As a result, it was during Lindsey Graham’s forty years of service to the public that most of his fortune, and assets were accrued which now form a part of Senator Lindsey Graham’s financial legacy.
Relationship With Donald Trump
Graham still struggled somewhat to warm up to Trump, following their 2016 clash on the presidential primary campaign trail. Graham attacked Trump on CNN in 2015 as a “race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.”
At some point, Graham, who has spent years as one of Trump’s most devoted supporters, declared that he was being patriotic by cooperating with the president. Graham was pivotal to securing the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett on the U.S. Supreme Court during Trump’s first term. He also assisted passage of last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law.
Most recently Graham had supported more U.S. military action against Iran, which went ahead after a failed ceasefire.
Lindsey Graham Net Worth and Political Career
Graham, in his capacity as a U.S. senator, was paid $174,000 per year salary that Democrats held senators to since 2009. Many reports suggested that the net worth of Lindsey Graham was somewhere between 1 to 3 million dollars.
Graham’s adjusted gross income from 2008 through 2019 was $2.1 million, and he paid approximately $495,000 in federal and state taxes over that same span, according to tax returns released by his 2020 re-election campaign.
Trump honours Graham on the day of his death
After Lindsey Graham died, Trump honoured him on Truth Social and stated: “Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the great people and Senators I have ever known, is dead! He was constantly working, and was a great American patriot.”
Trump said he had just talked to Graham the night when he died. In an appearance on Meet the Press, Trump said Graham had returned from a “very successful” trip to Ukraine and was “fine,” other than being tired.
Trump continued that Graham wanted to push the SAVE America Act through, he said “Well, we’re going to get it done Lindsey. We’re going to get it done. I’ll see you, like, soon.”
