Trump TV Takes the Stage as White House Media Battle Gets Bigger
Synopsis
The Trump TV launch adds an official White House video stream as CNN, MS NOW and Politico challenge access restrictions in federal court.
Trump TV has been unveiled as a 24/7 live video feed of the White House, a channel to host official presidential and administration footage as a dispute with the news media over press access intensifies.
The service, which is officially named 'TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station,' televises presidential statements, administration announcements and excerpts from Trump's public appearances. The White House is pushing out the service through its online video outlets.
Trump TV Launch Follows White House Access Dispute
The launch of Trump TV came days after the White House banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico reporters from its premises. The three media outlets filed a lawsuit against the federal government on September 21, arguing that the restrictions violated their constitutional rights and that the ban should be lifted.
The controversy has soured the White House television pool, a system in which ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC take turns shooting and sharing White House footage with other news outlets.
CNN was supposed to be on the pool on September 21. The network, which was ordered to stop transmitting the White House feed, refused to let another network fill-in and halted the shared presidential television pool, which was put in place by ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC.
The networks argued "the public should be given independent information about government. The White House has gone to court to defend the power it wields over press access.
Fox News Parent Reports $17.13 Billion Revenue
Fox Corporation, whose revenue last fiscal year came in at $17.126 billion, a 5% increase from $16.300 billion a year ago, owns the cable news channel, Fox News.
For the same period, Fox reported $1.727 billion in net income and $3.906 billion in adjusted EBITDA. The money it generates was $8.058 billion from distribution, $7.339 billion from advertising and $1.729 billion from content and other sources.
Fox added that its streaming service, Tubi, has 110 million monthly active users as of the end of fiscal 2026. Digital products, including Tubi, FOX One, FOX Nation and the Fox News and Fox Sports platforms, play a role in its distribution business, the company said.
TV networks and digital platforms are in various forms to deliver political and government news, with Trump's TV launch. It's purpose is to give the public official White House information during the time the other controversy over press access is wending its way through the courts.
