The Australian startup funding market has recorded $29.9 million across five companies this week, sort of.
Four deals announced this week raised total funding of around $8.9 million, while the remaining $21 million comes from a Buildkite convertible note raised back in January.
The funding activity spans developer infrastructure, healthcare AI, workplace wellbeing, pet health and event management, offering a snapshot of where Australian founders and investors are putting capital in September 2026.
Buildkite’s $21 Million Note Resurfaces
Melbourne developer tools company Buildkite accounts for the largest amount in the Australian startup funding roundup September 2026, although its $21 million convertible note was actually raised in January.
ASIC accounts show Buildkite used $23.4 million in operating cash during FY25, compared with $4.9 million the previous year. The investor and terms of the note were not disclosed.
The company provides infrastructure for testing and releasing software and has seen increased demand as AI coding tools generate more code. Its customers include OpenAI, Anthropic, Canva, Uber, Airbnb and Cursor.
Four Fresh Funding Deals Add $8.9 Million
Sydney medtech Medow Health AI raised $3.5 million from existing investors to develop its AI Front Desk for specialist medical practices. The round takes its combined funding to $8.5 million.
Workplace psychosocial platform ReFresh secured $2.5 million in seed funding led by Black Nova Venture Capital, with follow-on backing from Antler and Archangel Ventures. The company has now raised more than $4 million.
Victorian dog health startup Elita raised $1.9 million, led by US VC Boost, to expand its preventative care platform and develop Blueprint360, an at-home biological testing product.
Sydney-based Evatto rounded out the weekly startup funding wrap Australia with a $1.02 million pre-seed round led by Purpose Ventures. Its AI-powered platform helps enterprises manage complex event programs, with international expansion among its priorities.
Together, the four fresh deals total $8.92 million, while the resurfaced Buildkite financing takes the broader tally to $29.92 million.
