Synopsis
The banking giant recruited Bank of America's Rohan Sen to strengthen its technology services coverage and accelerate growth in tech investment banking.
Key Highlights
- Citi hires Bank of America's Rohan Sen to lead tech services banking coverage.
- Sen was a managing director in technology investment banking at Bank of America for 11 years.
- The hire is the latest part of Citi expanding its tech investment bank.
Citi hired Rohan Sen from Bank of America to lead coverage of the technology services sector, building up its strength in the group’s technology banking team.
A memo from global co-heads of technology investment banking at Citi, Pankaj Goel and Mark Keene described technology services as a highly strategic area of focus globally for the bank, adding that Sen’s hire is an important step in growing Citi’s technology banking business.
Strengthening Technology Banking
Sen joins Citigroup after 11 years working as a managing director in the technology investment banking group at Bank of America in New York. He will hold his position out of New York and report to Goel and Keene. A Citi spokesperson confirmed the memo, while a Bank of America spokesperson declined to comment.
The appointment comes after a string of recent hires at Citi to expand its technology investment banking franchise. The bank also took five managing directors from Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and UBS in July, Chris Groe, Florian Plath, Dhruv Fotadar, Anand Agarwal and Josh Sheets.
In technology investment banking earlier this year, Citi hired Anand Govind as managing director from software business o9 Solutions.
This expansion comes after Citi appointed Pankaj Goel, a senior banker from JPMorgan’s software unit, as co-head of its technology investment banking business alongside Mark Keene in 2025 as part of the bank's strategy to expand its investment banking franchise and capture more advisory work related to technology.
