Honda to build hybrid-vehicle plant in Ohio

The new hybrid vehicle production plant in Ohio is about to be built as Honda Motor, Japan prepares for the final phase of preparations, Nikkei reported on Thursday. Honda will invest approximately 300 billion to 400 billion yen in the new plant. That money is somewhere between $1.90 billion and $2.53 billion in investment.

According to the Nikkei report, Honda’s new plant is due to start production in 2030. The facility will be built in preparation for production of Microsoft's hybrid vehicle and Honda is nearing the final stage of preparations for this project.

Honda could invest close to 400 billion yen ($2.53 billion) in the new Ohio plant. The announced size of the investment is to the tune of 300 billion yen, which translates to roughly $1.90 billion, and as much as 400 billion yen.
