Boss Energy (ASX: BOE) announced Peter Botten will assume the role of Independent Non-Executive Chair on 30 September 2026.
Following the leadership transition, current Chair Wyatt Buck will remain on the board as a non-executive director, while independent director Jan Honeyman retired from the Board on 30 June.
Botten has over 25 years' experience with Oil Search, responsible for its PNG LNG project. He is currently chairman of Conrad Asia Energy and Karoon Energy, with experience as a geologist with COGEMA, the French state uranium agency.
Appointment Comes Ahead of Honeymoon Feasibility Study
Boss Energy faces the daunting task of restoring confidence in its Honeymoon uranium operation in South Australia after withdrawing a feasibility study and cutting FY26 production guidance.
The company should have a fresh feasibility study by the September quarter of 2026, when Botten steps up as chair. The study will be able to provide the long-term production profile of the Honeymoon project.
Boss Energy is also aimed at confirming the updated resource model, as well as prove up steady-state infrastructure performance and a plausible long-term mine plan at Honeymoon.
Honeymoon Project Continues to Play a Key Part in Growth Plan
In addition to Honeymoon, Boss Energy also remains a producer of uranium through its 30% joint venture with enCore Energy at the Alta Mesa project in Texas.
Still, the Honeymoon development is at the heart of the firm’s overall long-term growth plan. The new feasibility work is also anticipated to give an updated resource model and guidance on the future production plans for the project.
