Moonshot AI, a Chinese startup in the artificial intelligence recruitment space, is gearing up for an initial public offering (IPO) in six months on the Hong Kong stock market following strong investor interest surrounding the launch of its latest AI model.
The company has circulated a shareholder resolution seeking approval for the proposed listing, people acquainted with the matter say. It is also closing a funding round that may push the startup to over US$30 billion.
AI Growth Drives Listing Plans
In June, Moonshot saw its ARR rise to US$300 million from US$200 million in April, prompting a decision to proceed with the IPO.
The results of the Kimi K3, which was released for sale last week and were widely praised at the time. The model exceeded all competitors except for Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and OpenAI’s GPT-5, Moonshot said. 6 on overall capability.
Paper, One Of China’s Fastest-Growing AI Startups
Founded in 2023 by previous Tsinghua University professor Yang Zhilin, Moonshot became one of the top AI companies in China. The Beijing-based startup, has previously explored a Hong Kong listing with China International Capital Corp. and Goldman Sachs.
As China AI develops at an unprecedented speed, Moonshot is in competition with some of the biggest Chinese-based AI developers like DeepSeek, Alibaba’s Qwen, MiniMax and Z.AI.
