The company introduced AI features that automate daily tasks and deliver context-aware assistance across its platforms.

Meta's AI task automation is evolving with new functions which allow users to automate routine tasks, get personalized daily briefs and also get more out of repeated requests.

The updates are to be released via the Meta AI application and Meta.ai in some countries, and WhatsApp will follow through. Meta is increasing its consumer-focused AI capabilities.

Assistant Adds Recurring Tasks 

Based on the Muse Spark 1.1 model, the AI can add recurring tasks-like reminders for weekly errands or plans, daily updates on any desired information-directly to a user’s assistant. It may prepare a customized daily brief by collecting information from the user's approval ( like calendar details and news ).

Users will always control what information is saved. Incognito chat logs are excluded from its storage;

In addition, Meta also unveiled an AI-enhanced update and a separate application to aid sellers on Facebook Marketplace. It will grant them access to tools to effectively manage their selling activity and products.

Competition Shifts Beyond AI Chatbots 

The advancement in Meta's AI task automation occurs at a critical time as technological giants intensify efforts to build AI agents capable of going beyond mere interaction by executing actions for users. Similar features from industry leaders like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and OpenAI also entered the market recently as firms aggressively integrate AI into everyday software.

According to the IDC Worldwide AI and Generative AI Spending Guide (2026), worldwide spending on AI technology will be over $400 billion in 2026. Banking, retail, professional services, and manufacturing are among the sectors making substantial AI investments.

AI's market leader, North America, continues to grow, with Western Europe and Asia-Pacific showing good signs of investment growth.

AI Investment Continues 

Meta also has committed further to building its infrastructure and computational strength for the expansion of its AI products.

Meta has recorded $164.5 billion of profit during the fiscal year 2025 that is about 22% up from 2024 while its net income reached $62.4 billion. The second quarter of 2026 earnings for Meta are scheduled for July 29 release.
