China’s Chery Prepares Robot IPO as AiMOGA Targets Global Police Market
Synopsis
AiMOGA Robotics is exploring a public listing to fund expansion and targets 10,000 robot deliveries next year after deploying 110 humanoid police robots across Chinese cities, with the Middle East and Southeast Asia emerging as key overseas markets.
China's largest vehicle exporter, Chery Automobile is preparing to take its robotics arm AiMOGA Robotics public as the company looks to fund future growth and strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding humanoid robotics industry.
The company is currently evaluating potential listing venues although it has not disclosed a timeline or preferred exchange.
Speaking on the sidelines of the World Robot Conference in Beijing, AiMOGA Robotics Chief and Chery International President Zhang Guibing said an IPO would help finance technology investments while improving the company's governance, transparency and operational standards.
The move comes as investor interest in China's robotics sector continues to surge amid growing advances in artificial intelligence and automation.
Robot Deliveries Set to Rise as Global Demand Grows
Founded in January 2025, AiMOGA Robotics has already delivered more than 3,000 robots worldwide including 2,000 overseas. The enterprise now operates across more than 60 countries and regions.
The company plans to increase global deliveries to 10,000 units next year as it aims to become one of the world's leading robotics firms.
Earlier this year, AiMOGA introduced humanoid police robots with 110 units already deployed across several Chinese cities. The robots assist with traffic management, crowd guidance and public safety awareness which helps in reducing the burden on traffic officers who often work in extreme weather, polluted environments and high-risk conditions.
Competition Intensifies in China's Robotics Industry
China's robotics industry has emerged as a major frontier in the country's technology race, attracting investments from automakers and technology companies seeking new commercial applications for humanoid robots. Beyond manufacturing, companies are increasingly targeting sectors such as retail, customer service and public services.
Zhang said AiMOGA expects competition, particularly on pricing to remain intense as more companies enter the market. To reduce dependence on the domestic market, the company is expanding internationally. Initially, it is focusing on service and companion robots.
While AiMOGA has global ambitions, Zhang noted that any future expansion into the United States would require compliance with local regulations and market requirements.
The executive also expects industry consolidation over time, similar to the evolution of China's electric vehicle sector which could help strengthen technology development and improve long-term competitiveness.
