Samsung has introduced a 13-inch color e-paper display in the United States, expanding its commercial digital signage portfolio with a smaller format aimed at retail stores, restaurants, hospitality venues and office workplaces.
The new display, called the 13-inch Color E-Paper (model EM13DX), is roughly the size of an A4 sheet and is designed for areas where printed signs are still widely used, such as store shelves, menu counters and workplace notice boards.
Samsung said the device uses digital ink technology and consumes electricity only when the content is updated, allowing static images to remain visible without power.
Smaller format for everyday business use
The company said the new model is intended for businesses that regularly change pricing, menus or product information but still rely on paper-based signage.
The smaller screen size allows it to be used in locations where larger digital signage displays are not practical.
Samsung added that the display is part of its wider color e-paper lineup, which already includes larger models introduced earlier for commercial use.
The company said the launch reflects continued demand for low-power signage solutions across retail and workplace environments.
Use of recycled and bio-based materials
Samsung also confirmed that the display housing contains recycled plastic and bio-resin derived from phytoplankton.
According to the company, the material includes 45% recycled plastic and 10% bio-resin and can reduce carbon emissions during manufacturing by more than 40% compared with conventional plastics.
The 13-inch display adds to Samsung’s broader commercial display business. The company has previously said it has maintained the leading position in the global commercial display market for more than 17 years, citing industry research data.
