Nobel Peace Prize Ceremonies Set for December 10

Nobel laureates attended functions in Sweden and Norway ahead of the December 10 events commemorating the 1896 passing of Alfred Nobel. Susumu Kitagawa was honoured with the Chemistry award. He contributed samples of metal frameworks to the museum. These are the substances for which he and two other researchers were awarded. Richard Robson and Omar Yaghi shared the prize with him.
At a press briefing held at the Karolinska Institute on December 6, Sakaguchi addressed the media. He explained why medical research holds significance. "I want our community to recognise the importance of medical science and research, " he stated. His investigations focus on T cells. These cells stop the system from excessively targeting the body. The studies are still in stages for clinical application. However, Sakaguchi and his fellow laureates are confident it may result in therapies for illnesses and cancers.
