Claude maker Anthropic is in acquisition talks with Decart AI, according to a sources as it investigates acquiring companies which can help meet rising demand. The deal could approximate to about $6 Billion according to the initial report by Bloomberg.
Decart AI’s Technology
Decart creates AI infrastructure and optimisation technology as well as its own proprietary AI models.
Its Lucy model edits live video on the fly and Oasis generates simulated environments within which robotics and autonomous-driving systems can be trained and tested.
Discussions have only reached an initial stage. If successful, Decart’s staff will form part of Anthropic’s inference and performance team.
Decart’s Nvidia Backing
Nvidia invested as a new stakeholder in Decart and the latter announced in May that it had closed a $300 million funding round led by Radical Ventures.
The possible takeover arrives during a period of anticipated nine-figure IPO for Anthropic and current efforts to raise its computing capacity in order to relieve restrictions on some of their services.
Last week, Anthropic said it was hiring hardware and software engineers to help it create custom chips with AI models that are optimized for performing Claude more efficiently.
