Meta Platforms has reportedly struck new deals with the data developer Crusoe to acquire more AI computing power as it continues to increase its artificial intelligence infrastructure. Meta, which is the parent company of Facebook, has leased compute power from Crusoe across two different data centres in the U. S.

Meta Pays For Capacity at 2 Data Centres

Meta will buy computing power from Crusoe’s Childress, Texas and Warrenton, Missouri facilities, according to the report.

The two sites, combined, are expected to provide Meta with 1.6 gigawatts of computing power. For some perspective, one gigawatt can power close to three-quarters of a million homes in the US. The report did not specify what Meta will pay as part of the deals, or when the computing power would be available.

AI Expansion Drives Infrastructure Demand

Like other large tech firms, Meta has poured money into data centres and computing power as demand for AI services appears to outstrip supply more dramatically than previously thought through 2026. To support efforts to trial AI agent technologies, the company has already said it plans to invest $600 billion on jobs and infrastructure over the next three years as it builds out manufacturing scale data centres.
