Stockland has confirmed its new chairman after Robert Johnston. He will take over from 19 October following the conclusion of its annual general meeting. Tom Pockett is stepping down and Johnston will take over as chairman.
More Than Three Decades of Industry Experience
Johnston brings more than 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles across investment, development, project management and construction. He joined the Stockland board in October 2024 where he was a member of both the audit committee and the people and culture committee.
Before joining the board, Johnston was Chief Executive Officer of GPT and Managing Director of Frasers Property. He also held several senior leadership roles at Lendlease. Johnston currently serves as a director of Perth Airport and Wellington International Airport.
Company Welcomes Appointment
Outgoing chairman Thomas Pockett said Johnston’s experience and leadership make him well qualified for the position.
“His extensive property sector experience, proven executive leadership and strong understanding of capital, development and operational businesses make him an outstanding choice as chairman,” Pockett said.
Since joining the board, Johnston has made a valuable contribution and demonstrated a strong commitment to creating long-term value for security holders, he added.
