Doug McMillon To Step Down As Walmart CEO
According to the filing by the retail corporation, McMillon stepped into the top role at Walmart in February 2014. Though McMillon will officially retire on 31 January, but he will continue to serve as an executive officer of the company. He will be employed by the firm as an advisor through 31 January, 2027. McMillon’s decision to step down came sooner than anticipated, he has still become one of the longest-serving CEOs in company history. He joined Walmart in 1984 as an hourly associate and rose through the ranks to become CEO of Walmart in February 2014, replacing Mike Duke.
