The latest Meta threat milestone comes after adding 15 million new users in just three months. In April 2025, Mark Zuckerberg said that threads had already reached 350 million monthly active users.
Competition Heats Up Between Threads and X
While X still has a bigger user base, the Threads vs X competition is getting tighter, especially on mobile. Data from similar web shows Threads has 115.1 million daily mobile users, but this number fell by more than 15% compared to last year.
The number shows a clear shift in how people use social media, with Meta social media growing the field with its mobile-first strategy. On Desktop, Meta is far ahead with 148.8 million visits in June, and threads only had 6.9 million.
