Microsoft launched ChatGPT 5 across its entire ecosystem, calling it its biggest AI integration ever. The rollout covers Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and consumer Copilot apps, bringing in a new feature called Smart mode that automatically adjusts responses based on task complexity.
The release is a part of a coordinated launch with OpenAI’s ChatGPT 5 released for general users. CEO Satya Nadella shared on social media, “GPT5 launches across our platforms, including Microsoft 365, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry.”
Smart Mode Brings Intelligent AI Model Switching
The highlight of the Microsoft update is Smart Mode, which automatically switches between different GPT 5 model types depending on the task you are performing. Quick questions use a fast version, and complex problems activate a reasoning model that takes more time to deliver more accurate answers.
According to Microsoft, this removes the need for users to manually use AI models, making the experience smoother across all apps. ChatGPT 5 model is designed to understand context better, analyse complex queries, and provide more reliable answers.
Enterprise Users Get Advanced GPT-5 Model
Microsoft 365 copilot subscribers now get priority access to GPT-5’s advanced abilities, making it more effective for analysing reports, emails, and meeting notes. GitHub users, on paid plans, can also switch to GPT 5, with the latest testing showing very few coding errors and better code quality.
Azure AI Foundry’s GPT 5 tp provide developers with enterprise-level security, automatically selecting the best model for each prompt based on complexity.
For the first time, Microsoft’s ChatGPT 5 integration is free for users across Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS copilot apps.
