Israel Forces Killed 60 Palestinians Seeking Food in Gaza

Israeli soldiers killed 60 Palestinians on Wednesday. The majority of them were simply attempting to obtain food from distribution centers in Gaza.

The worst attack occurred when individuals traveled to pick up food from a center in central Gaza. 25 individuals lost their lives, and many others were injured. The food center belonged to an organization known as the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation that collaborates with Israel and America.

Later during the day, 14 others were also shot and killed when they attempted to go to another food establishment in Rafah. Yesterday, 17 other Palestinians perished close to these same food areas. Gaza residents are starving. They risk their lives just to eat.

Getting Food Has Become Hazardous

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation reports that they have distributed 16 million meals since May. But individuals are being killed when they attempt to get to these food centers.

A New York law group is now issuing a warning to the foundation. They report that the group could be violating the law by assisting Israel in committing war crimes. The attorney Katherine Gallagher states that Israel is employing food as a weapon against Palestinians.

She said that this foundation and Israel are making it lethal for individuals to access food. They are also employing food to compel individuals to vacate their residences.

Folks Are Leaving This Program

Numerous individuals who labored on this food program have already resigned. The initial boss, Jake Wood, quit last month. According to him, the plan was erroneous and contradictory to fundamental rules of assisting individuals.

A large US corporation named Boston Consulting Group also ceased business with them last week. The new administrator is now Johnnie Moore. He is a strong supporter of Israel, but not familiar with assisting starving individuals.

What Israel Claims Occurred

Israeli troops claimed to have fired “warning shots” at individuals whom they believed posed a threat. They are aware that individuals were injured and claim to be investigating what happened.

The Israeli military also recovered the bodies of two Israeli hostages in Gaza. One was a 59-year-old father of three. Hamas murdered him in their attack on October 7, 2023, that initiated the entire war.

There are still around 53 Israeli hostages held in Gaza. The majority of them are likely dead at this point. Gaza health authorities estimate that over 55,000 Palestinians have died in this 20-month war. The organization accused Hamas of assassinating 5 of its employees in a bus ambush. But folks want to know why the retrieval of food must be so fatal in Gaza.
