Anthropic, the firm that produces Claude AI, believes it can generate between $20 billion and $26 billion in 2026. Currently, they are generating around $7 billion annually. This large increase is occurring because a lot of firms are purchasing their AI products.
The San Francisco-based company plans to reach $9 billion by the end of this year. They have two plans for next year: one is to reach $20 billion, and if the year turns out extremely well, they might reach $26 billion. That’s triple what they’re generating now.
Companies Are the Main Buyers
Anthropic has over 300,000 businesses utilising their products currently. These companies generate approximately 80% of all the money the company earns. They provide their AI tools to other businesses, who subsequently implement them in their own software and websites.
One of the products doing incredibly well is Claude Code. It assists humans in writing computer programs. This product began this year and is already generating nearly $1 billion independently. Anthropic released a more affordable version of their Haiku model this week as well. It is one-third of the cost of their middle-tier model, so companies can now use it more affordably.
Issues With OpenAI
Anthropic is competing with OpenAI, which makes ChatGPT. OpenAI is making about $13 billion now and thinks it’ll hit over $20 billion before this year ends. OpenAI has about 800 million people using ChatGPT every week. Anthropic focuses more on selling to companies than to regular people.
Anthropic just received $13 billion in funding from investors, making the company valued at $183 billion. It was valued at $61.5 billion in March, so it is more than two times. Major firms such as Google and Amazon have invested in Anthropic. They are also opening a new office in Bengaluru, India, next year and expanding hiring three times overseas.
